Lake District: Meet the First Circular Aquaponic Salmon Farm
The facilities are located in Puerto Montt and it will be the first to carry out activities related to circular economy.
An “Agreement of Cooperation for the Development and Management of Aquaponic Systems of Wastewater from Salmon Farming Plants” will be signed next week in the city of Santiago in the Metropolitan Area. All in all, this innovative initiative seeks to add shared value to the fish farming production through an additional food production by means of aquaponic techniques.
The main parties involved behind this initiative called “Circular Food” will attend the signing of this agreement. Among them will be the Dean of the Agriculture and Forestry Engineering Faculty of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Rodrigo Figueroa; the Strategic Growth Manager of Lago Sofia, Miguel Portus and the Sales and Administration Manager of Pentair, Juan Pablo Barrales.
